I don't remember where I came across that quote, frankly -- nor do I even know who Russ Harris is. Still, I think it pretty well sums up my life's quest for health. I've never been a healthy girl, not even when I was thin. But I still can be healthy -- thick or thin. I just have to continue being committed to myself. That's what I'm doing here on Spark. I am reaffirming and building that commitment.
To enjoy life to the fullest as a healthier, fitter, wiser me.
1. Stress less, live more.
2. Treat my body with the respect and love I deserve -- even if I struggle to believe I deserve those things.
3. Move, move, move!
4. Drink enough water I'll float in the bathtub.
5. Find a healthy diet I can adhere to easily.
I am a biologist and PhD student. I love all science & research, reading classic literature, photography, writing short stories and poems, hiking, gardening, crocheting and jewelry making, and last, but not least, spending time with my puppy, kitten, and significant other.
