Hi there! I'm Mel! :) I live in lovely, sunny SoCal, where I'm trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. In the meantime, I'm taking care of my body and trying to get healthy. I'm new to the area and still haven't met a lot of people, but if anyone stumbles upon my page who's in the area and wants to get together, let me know!

I was a really active sparker from March-June 2011, but fell off the bandwagon. Since April 2013, I've been working to get back down there with the help of the 5% Challenges (Go Teddies!!) and my fitbit. Let's be Fitbit friends if you have one! (http://www.fitbit.com/user/227CVG)

On April 1st, 2013, at my highest weight ever (157.1lbs!), I decided that I needed to do something about this trend in the wrong direction. I want to be thin and fit and match the image I have of myself in my head!

I just realized that every year I have done one 5K even since I starting sparking. I did the Furry 5K in Seattle in 2011 and the Spartan Sprint in Malibu in Dec 2012. This year I'm going to try to do a Holiday 5K.

- Track EVERYTHING that I eat!

OTHER GOALS:
- Find some motivation to get out there
- Learn how to live a healthier lifestyle
- Re-lose weight I lost before


COMPLETED:
- Not gain weight during holiday season - down 2lbs (2012)
- Run a 5K without walking before the end of 2012 - Distance-11/20/12 & Spartan Sprint-12/2/12
- Lose weight before my appearance as my friend's bridesmaid in June (lost 15 pounds just before the wedding! 6/19/11)

How I exercise: walking with my PICs (partners in crime) Shimmer and Blake, running, cycling, indoor rock climbing

How I eat: attempting to eat healthy, but sometimes life (and my favorite treats) get in the way!
