Wellness or bust... I'm going for it!

I'm thrilled to be alive and able to exercise again. Last year I almost died due to being malnourished from having Crohn's Disease for 27 years. I fought hard to get better and after TWO surgeries, I'm on the road to recovery.

I struggle each day with having the energy, will and determination to get myself fit and eat the right foods. I have to get injections in order to absorb Vitamin B12 and take many vitamins throughout the day so that I won't become malnourished again. I ...

I struggle each day with having the energy, will and determination to get myself fit and eat the right foods. I have to get injections in order to absorb Vitamin B12 and take many vitamins throughout the day so that I won't become malnourished again. I am on 6mp which is a form of chemotherapy, it suppresses the immune system so I won't have as many flare-ups.

I absolutely love my husband and three sons. I LOVE to cook, bake, read, crochet, garden and take long walks with my dogs. Unfortunately, one of my sons is a drug addict and is no longer living with me.


I love meeting new people and would love to offer encouragement to others and receive support back.

My Goals:
To surround myself with non-toxic friends and shed the excess pounds that have accumulated from stress, age, menopause, and compulsive eating. I NEED to lose enough to fit into the clothes I purchased for myself when I lost 35 lbs. I will NOT buy fat pants.

My Program:
 To get myself healthy and feeling well for the first time in my life.

Exercise everyday and get off my couch! No matter what.

Hi again, just saw your comment! Thanks for the input and advice. I do take the rx strength of D and the b12 injection, I also don't absorb Calcium, get low on magnesium iron, protein and potassium! I feel best when I can get this stuff IV but can't seem to do that unless I'm in the hospital. My GI in Richmond, VA is a board certified and published Crohn's specialist. He's really excellent, and he's told me stuff to tell my doctors here that I didn't know. I wasn't diagnosed with CD when I had the by-pass, the CD happened 5 years later. I read somewhere that this is happening to more and more by-pass patients but they haven't figured out the relationship yet. I understand that I am really pretty old for a newly diagnosed patient. I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience last year. I keep the thought of the possibility of these things in the back of my mind, but I know that I won't have the many years of wear and abuse on my bowels. One time my age may be a plus!
