Managing time with a baby while not losing myself...

My new lifestylfe journey began December 2009 when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Having to change my way of eating, cooking, exercising has been a challenge. I do, however, look forward to the future, and love that I have this site for motivation and assistance. Some days are good, some days suck, and I will be the first to admit that I am far from perfect. I recently had a baby and he is the joy of my life, and I need to continue my fight for well being for our future together. ...

Hey there, welcome to SparkPeople & Fibro Friends! You have joined an incredibly supportive team. We're here for your weight loss, fitness, motivation & as you live w/ FMS. Fibro does change losing weight & getting fit - but it doesn't stop us unless we let it. Even having a day full of obstacles & not letting it stop us the next day is progress. Make it a goal to make progress every day, even when all you do is 10 minutes of slow stretching in a couple 5 minute sessions. It will make so much difference.

This forum, including the Reading Room, is full of fibro resources. Spark's tools are fantastic, I couldn't do this w/o the trackers. There's so much to learn, articles and slideshows & videos, including Coach Nicole's workout videos.

Enjoy getting healthy & fit!

Lynn, FF team co-leader

emoticon to MN Sparks Fat Kickers Official Team! It's an active team and I hope you find it fun and helpful in reaching your goals! We are all here to encourage you!

There is a support group for Fibro as well if you are interested. The Arthritis Foundation has info on exercises on their website as well. I found the best thing for me was experimenting with different types until I found what I was comfortable with. Our local library had a lot of choices that I could check out in book, DVD and VCR tapes. Don't bypass the "senior" exercises as they have many exercises and stretches that help with arthritis. Trying some of the ones in the Sparks files helps as well. Nicole has some great 10 minute ones you can try. I also found some foods can trigger flares. As always, you can check with your doctor and see if they have a physical therapy person you can work with in your health plan. It's like a personal trainer! Best of luck with your goals!

I am one of the team leaders with Kat7457, Squirtzie, and MattrixMSP.
