I have struggled with my weight since I have had children. It had always been easy to drop a few pounds until I started going into menopause. I have so many changes going on in my life that I need to take time to make changes to my personal well being.

Hey, just wanted to comment on your post on Teachers Learning to Lose. When you first start out on a changing your eating and working out - water is going to affect the number on your scale. This is a GOOD thing. I know you want the number to go down, but keep going and it will. The water is needed now - your building muscles and they need a lot of water. A lot of people give up within the first several weeks b/c they don't see a change - and most often it is just water, which is what should happen. Everyone suggested other measurements - definately a good idea! Don't be discouraged, your body is getting used to the new you and it will begin to adapt. Another thing to do is to make sure with the amount of exercise you may be doing, you may need to eat more - so keep track of that as well. I learned the hard way that I was not eating enough - so weird to hear, but true. Good luck! I'm glad your vacation went well otherwise!

Saw your post on the Teachers Learning to Lose and wanted to welcome you here! I have been a member for several months, but haven't taken full advantage of all this site offers. Now that summer is here, I hope to devote more time to my health and fitness and get back on track.
