Gotta stick with it!

Hello everyone!

My name is Michelle, I am 28. I originally joined SparkPeople about three or four years ago when I wanted to lose the 10 pounds I had gained from working at a food place. I tracked my calories and occasionally tracked my workouts. I lost the 10 pounds and thought wow, I don't need this site anymore. So I deleted my account and pretty much went back to eating whatever and not exercising. In October of 2010 I became pregnant. My son was born on July 5th 0f 2011! The ...

The best day of my life so far besides my wedding day which was October 13th 2012.

Since having my son, I have come to realize that I am not happy with my weight. Not only that, I want to be healthy and live a long and happy life with my family. So I joined back up with SparkPeople in August of 2011. To be honest the first few months I was not very active in the site and did not really commit to a healthy lifestyle, after all it is hard with a new born baby! But then I sat down and asked myself, "How bad do you really want this? Are you ready to make this commitment?" For the first time the answer was YES! Since then, I have become way more active on the message boards, I've joined a couple of teams challenges. I've even bought the SparkPeople Cook Book, and the 28 Day Boot Camp dvd. I've tried to make sure I at least do 10 minutes of physical activity each day. With small steps I know I can accomplish my goals, and I am so glad that I have found SparkPeople. Now my fiancé and I are both taking the small steps we need to live a longer healthier lives for our family.

"The scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That’s it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love. Don’t give the scale more power than it has earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life. You are beautiful!"

TGIF, gorgeous! I hope you've had a great week and are ready for a healthy weekend! We've still got 26 days until Spring, so lets not waste a single one of them. I'm rooting for you! See you on the Countdown to Spring team.

"It doesn't make sense to call ourselves ugly, because we don't really see ourselves. We don't watch ourselves sleeping in bed, curled up and silent, with chests rising and falling with our own rhythm. We don't see ourselves reading a book, eyes fluttering and glowing. You don't see yourself looking at someone with love inside your heart. There's no mirror your way when you're laughing and smiling, and happiness is leaking out of you. You would know exactly how bright and beautiful you are if you saw yourself in the moments where you are the most beautiful."

“You are not a mistake. You are not a problem to be solved. It's possible to treat yourself with outrageous kindness beginning today.
Compulsive eating is only the symptom; believing that you are not worth your own love is the problem.
Go for the love. You will never be sorry.”

“If we think our job here on earth is to fix ourselves, we will keep looking for the broken places.
If we believe our job is to be kind, we will keep lavishing love on ourselves.”

Roses are read, yoga is great,
Who needs a valentine when I can bench my own weight!
Violets are blue, and peanut butter is heaven,
I'll save you a kiss after rep number seven.
Bananas are yellow, and yoga is Greek,
Squats are the only thing make MY knees week.
Oatmeal is perfect, and veggies, divine.
The dream to be strong is what I'm making mine!

"To love yourself right now, just as you are, is to give yourself heaven. Don't wait until you die. If you wait, you die now. If you love, you live now. "

"We all have the tendency to believe self doubt and self criticism, but listening to this voice never gets us closer to our goals. Instead, try on the point of view of a mentor or good friend who believes in you, wants the best for you, and will encourage you when you feel discouraged."

"The one thing all famous authors, world-class athletes, business tycoons, singers, actors, and celebrated achievers in any field have in common is that they all began their journeys when they were none of these things.
Yet still, they began their journeys.
You are so poised for greatness."
