Hello everyone!

My name is Michelle, I am 28. I originally joined SparkPeople about three or four years ago when I wanted to lose the 10 pounds I had gained from working at a food place. I tracked my calories and occasionally tracked my workouts. I lost the 10 pounds and thought wow, I don't need this site anymore. So I deleted my account and pretty much went back to eating whatever and not exercising. In October of 2010 I became pregnant. My son was born on July 5th 0f 2011! The ...

The best day of my life so far besides my wedding day which was October 13th 2012.

Since having my son, I have come to realize that I am not happy with my weight. Not only that, I want to be healthy and live a long and happy life with my family. So I joined back up with SparkPeople in August of 2011. To be honest the first few months I was not very active in the site and did not really commit to a healthy lifestyle, after all it is hard with a new born baby! But then I sat down and asked myself, "How bad do you really want this? Are you ready to make this commitment?" For the first time the answer was YES! Since then, I have become way more active on the message boards, I've joined a couple of teams challenges. I've even bought the SparkPeople Cook Book, and the 28 Day Boot Camp dvd. I've tried to make sure I at least do 10 minutes of physical activity each day. With small steps I know I can accomplish my goals, and I am so glad that I have found SparkPeople. Now my fiancé and I are both taking the small steps we need to live a longer healthier lives for our family.

"Above all else, do NOT quit! The universe always bows to persistence.
The empowering approach is to see your physical challenges as assets, because overcoming obstacles forces you to develop discipline, determination and character.
These traits will carry over to other areas of your life and make you a stronger person.”

Spring has sprung, the grass has ris’,
I wonder where the birdie is?
There he is up in the sky,
He dropped some whitewash in my eye!
I‘m alright, I won't cry,
I'm just glad that cows can't fly!

What is it that you wish to change, improve upon, create, express or experience?

Hello from the Countdown to Spring team! Can you believe that Spring is almost here and our challenge will be ending? I just want to encourage you to keep pushing yourself to do your best each day. Only YOU can make your goals and dreams a reality, so be sure to work hard for them. You don't need me to remind you that you're worth the effort, do you? Well, in case you do, consider this to be your reminder!
Hugs,
Pixie

“CHANGE: Don’t just talk about it, go out there and do it.
Don’t just meditate about it, go out there and create it.
Don’t just pray about it, go out there and take action; participate in the answering of your own prayer.
If you want change, get out there and live it."

Good morning from the Countdown to Spring team! I hope you are having a healthy, fabulous week so far. Can you believe that there is less than a week until the first day of Spring? (It sure doesn't feel like it in my neck of the woods, though!) Let's make the most of these final days of the challenge...and then keep that momentum going! We can accomplish a lot if we just commit to doing our best one day at a time. We are worth the effort!
Hugs,
Pixie

"Sometimes victory seems so far away because we measure it only by the goal.
And end goals can seem overwhelmingly huge, daunting, and just plain hard to reach.
But if we start measuring our victories by the smaller choices we make each day, victory won't seem so impossible.
....It's amazing the chain reaction that can start in your life with just one good choice.
Big things are built one brick at a time.
Victories are achieved one choice at a time.
A life well lived is chosen one day at a time.
Oh sweet friend, you are closer than you think to victory!"
