Hello. My name is Shelly. I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Michigan with concentrations in biochemistry and medicine. I am trying to lose 90 pounds. I lost 50 pounds last summer, but then I gained it all back during the school year. I'm one of those emotional eaters, and exams are definitely stressful. Hello. My name is Shelly. I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Michigan with concentrations in biochemistry and medicine. I am trying to lose 90 pounds. I lost 50 pounds last summer, but then I gained it all back during the school year. I'm one of those emotional eaters, and exams are definitely stressful. I was so distraught when I came home because everyone comments when you put on weight. It's like they like me more when I'm thin. I think it definitely has something to do with culture. Asians are typically thin, so I never feel like I fit in with the rest of my family. It's just really hard when your own family doesn't support you, you know? They try, but they do it in all the wrong ways. So I'm looking for new and better support. I've decided to not let what my family say get to me. All they see are the results. They don't see the effort that I put into this. But as long as I know that I'm working hard, then that's all that matters. I won't let challenges scare me. Fighting!

- Diet consists of high fiber, low carb, and lean protein
- Work up to that 10 miles, currently at 3 miles in 45 minutes

HI shelly, my name is carol, just thought i would drop you a line and say hello. I am also trying to lose, nearly 70lbs in total. I had lost it all but when i went back to school i had also gained it all back. My whole family is skinny as well, and i don't get the support i need from my mom and such. It really sucks. Hopefully i will talk to you soon
