Shelly's Change of Life(style)

I am a mother of 3 children. I gained alot of weight during my first pregnancy and never lost it all. I tried diet pills between children 2 and 3 to no avail. Two years ago, I lost 30 lbs, only to gain them back. I want to lose the 30 lbs again, permanently. And then some.

My Goals:
My first goal is to drink MORE WATER. I don't drink nearly enough, some days I have none.

My next goal is to EXERCISE!! I have lots of exercise games for the Wii so I am only lacking the motivation.

My short term goal is to be able to fit into the clothes (size 12) already hanging in my closet.

My ultimate goal is to lose 55-60 lbs. I have a pair of shorts (size 7) that I would love to get back into someday.


My Program:
I am tracking my nutrition so I know how much or how little I am eating.

I am looking for healthier foods and new ways to prepare meals for myself and my family.

I am going to utilize my Wii more often. I can't promise daily, but I can shoot for 3 times a week, MINIMUM.

It is nice that you have someone to go on this journey with. I was just thinking about how hard it can be when you have virtually no support from your family and friends (like me, unfortunately). Is DDR something you need to do with a partner or can it be solo? It sounds like it could be interesting. I am intrigued about your new book "The 400 Calorie Fix". What's it all about?!?!

So, Dance Dance Revolution? Who is the we you mentioned? I usually do my exercise after 8 when the boys go to bed because that seems easiest. So far, on my Wii, I've mainly been doing Yoga and a little strength training and cardio. I also have an online trainer who has created a strength training circuit for me that I will begin after this weekend. I would begin now, but I am working overnight all weekend and have class on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, so I don't have much time for anything :-/ I did have a couple bad days food wise this last week. I need to learn to just say no! I made the mistake of having the two cheeseburger meal at McDonalds rather than the Happy meal I had grown accustomed to ordering when I go. I also have a "tradition" of going out to eat on payday friday and that was not a good choice at all...I feel terrible, but I know I should just pick myself up and try again...sorry I rambled on so much!

How has the last couple of days gone for you? Eating and exercising as planned? I hope so :-)

I'm just looking for as much support as I can find and am hoping to support others who may need it. I live in Bloomington, MN and was looking for others in MN in hopes of finding a "local" support system :-)
