I have decided to get myself together & live a healthier lifestyle. I know this is going to be a learning process, but I am looking forward to the challenge. So far, I have learned so much and it is just the beginning.
I am so happy that I have the support of my family. Actually, I have always had support from my family. My husband & daugher are Sparkers too. My husband, aka Yarlos, our daugher (a SparkTeen), and our son have been great supporters, motivators, and encouragers.
Interesting enough I have never thought that I was a horrible eater. Mainly it was portion control. I love the taste of food. I like to taste different ethnic food . I like to eat fruits & vegetables.
On that note we are making changes to our lifestyle. We are eliminating as much processed foods as possible, incorporate more organics, and natural foods. In addition, control our portion sizes.
Don't get me wrong, we still have our splurges. We are taking it one day at a time. I felt it was better that we make a steady transition because I didn't want to set us up for immediate failure and I have to say it has been beneficial. We are losing the weight.
It took me awhile to get to this point (motivated). How long you say? I have been a Spark member since 1/2010. I didn't get serious until 1/2012.
I have tried all the fad diets: Slimfast, Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, and Medifast. Yes, I had short term weight loss but in the end I gained the weight back. I have always known that it is about healthier choices, moderation, and exercise but at the end of the day it was about a quick fix. Well, the quick fix is not working! It is now my way & the right way!
Here's to me & my family!
