Wanting to lose weight & stay healthy

I am re-committing myself to lose the weight and get healthy again. I want to make sure I can take care of my mom who has cancer and be able to play with my two grandchildren, one is 9yrs & the other is 20 months, without getting out of breath or too tired. I'm overweight, well, ok...fat. (yes, I actually admitted it)

After research on these, I found one could be the cause of the other and they all could be caused from being overweight. I've looked into the Body4Believers plan and have lost 10 pounds so far. Now that the holidays are over, I'm back on it as well as exercising.

I'm trying to eat as few processed foods as possible and intend on growing a garden again next year. I will do my best to get the excess weight off keep it off. I'm a work in progress.

My Goals:
I am wanting to lose weight carefully so I don't re-gain as I did years ago when I had lost down to 130 (ended up having my gallbladder removed because I lost 50 in 3 months, way too quick). I hope this will also help reduce my cholesterol, acid reflux, sleep apnea and increase my energy so I can keep up with my granddaughter and grandson that will be here May 2011!

My Program:
1. I WILL incorporate 5 fruits & vegetables throughout my meals per day.
2. I WILL drink at least 6 glasses of water per day (and stop drinking sodas).
3. I WILL choose leaner cuts of meat.
4. I WILL do my exercise of the morning to get my metabolism started.

This is NOT a diet. It's a life-style change....a way of life!

I think I will sell all my "diet" books 'cause all I need is 'The Spark' and SparkPeople. ;-D

Well I got a set-back during my check up with the Sleep Apnea doc. I weighed 192. Evidently my scale doesn't work correctly! It shows lower. So I'm going to get a new one this weekend. Any suggestions for a good, cheap one is appreciated emoticon

I'm not going to let that get me down. I'll change my starting weight to 192 and go from there (since I don't really know what that was to begin with). What else can you do? Just go forward from here and stick with it! emoticon
