This was at the start of my weight gain

November 2010. If I can just get my face to thin out I would be happy.

Hypothyroidism, PCOS, and sleep apnea will not control me.

I'm 38, married and have an 11 yr old and a 7 yr old. Over the last 4 years I have tried to establish a healthier lifestyle only to have my thyroid go out again shooting my cholesterol through the roof and having my blood pressure go up. 2 years into this fight, I found out I was insulin resistant. My doc said my genetics had kicked in as diabetes runs in my family, though my sugar and AIC number is normal. So I'm basically just insulin resistant because of the pcos. I'm here to learn how to cope with this lifetime battle I face and to drop right 100 lbs to get to a healthy weight range. A past-office challenge has prompted me to step up the pace which I was successful doing winning my weight catergory with a 22 lb. loss; however, I did gain some of that back but maintained right at a 15 lb loss for about a year. I see that I have crept up slowly and refuse to let it. I have made a committment of 5 days of exercise and will try to stick to it. I found running is what really help me bring the weight down and I'm going to try it again. The purchase of my treadmill has helped so I can do 30 minutes before I go to work. I'm also dealing with plantar fasciitis but that's okay to, I will manage. I am determined that it will not beat me. In the 2+ weeks of morning exercise 5 days/week, I have noticed a difference in my sleep pattern. I no longer have to take my quarter of a sleeping pill every night and actually slept without my CPAP one night and did not have a apnea headache or find my self sleepy the following day!! So the exercising is helping, even if I can't physically see it.

Just dropped by to say - Hi. and welcome you to “Team ~INDYGIRL” emoticon
We aim to create a friendly, and supportive environment in SparkPeople land!! - Please feel free to jump in and join in the message boards. It has been proved that people who contribute regularly to message boards and blog regularly lose more weight, more easily than those who don’t, so come on in.
It is a great place to be and you will find lots of friends, and ideas to help and support you at all stages on your journey, so please don’t ever be afraid to ask questions. Even if it seems a small thing it is important to you – and someone will have the answer, or will have been there.
I hope you succeed in all the goals you set
Please leave your Sparkmail on for this team as ~Indygirl sends out a new challenge each week
Enjoy the journey
