Starting Over

I was doing great last year. I had lost 30 lbs, I was exercising every day and eating great! Then, my newborn nephew went into the hospital in October and almost died. We ate out ever single day. Of course, the closest restaurants to the hospital were diners and fast food joints; the type of places where salad was an unknown concept. I stopped exercising! After my nephew came out of the hospital, the sedentary lifestyle and overeating continued, unfortunately. Lo and behold, I weighed in ...

Of course, the closest restaurants to the hospital were diners and fast food joints; the type of places where salad was an unknown concept. I stopped exercising! After my nephew came out of the hospital, the sedentary lifestyle and overeating continued, unfortunately. Lo and behold, I weighed in last week at 176 lbs!!! I gained 20 of the 30 lbs I had worked so hard to lose. I was very disappointed in myself.

I am absolutely determined to lose this weight. I need to! Reasons for wanting to lose 50 lbs include:

1. Trying to conceive baby #2
2. TO BE HEALTHY
3. To have energy

Goal weight for July 8: 171 lbs
Goal weight for August 8: 165 lbs
Goal weight for September 8: 160 lbs
Goal weight for October 8: 155 lbs
Goal weight for November 8: 150 lbs
Goal weight for December 8: 145 lbs

My Goals:
Fitness Goals:

1. To be stronger
2. To have more energy
3. To be healthier
4. To reach a goal weight of 125 lbs.
5. To eat better forever!
6. To always be moving
7. To keep the weight off for good.

My Program:
Diet:

So far for my nutrition tracking I am staying within the 1200-1500 daily calorie range.

I do not eat after 6:30 p.m. because that was my biggest problem with weight gain. Eating the wrong foods right before you go to bed spells disaster for me.

I do not completely deprive myself when I want something sweet. I keep Dreyer's fruit bars in my freezer and that satisfies me.

Exercise:

This is the hardest aspect of the weight loss journey for me. I cannot seem to stay motivated long enough to stick with one program.

For now, I am walking on my treadmill and doing the intermediate Tae Bo Basics video.

I intend to get on a strength training progarm. Body for Life looks like a really great place to start.

Personal Information:
I know this is going to be difficult because my husband weighs 135 lbs and can eat anything he wants to. It doesn't help that he is also a gourmet chef. But I just have to keep my eye on the prize: being healthy and feeling great!

Other Information:
Some favorite hobbies of mine include playing with my 3 year-old son Bobby, reading, singing, dancing, and perusing Sparkpeople.

Glad to hear your doing well, it's good when you find something that keeps you going.I ran my firast 5k and i'v started a new battle which i'v blogged about both.I'm on a mission and i need to apply the same amount of focus on my eating as i have on my running.

Hope the jazzercise keeps working for you i think it's good to check in with other people now and then you get a good idea of where you could go or you can help others out.Keep up the good work i'm sure you'll see the results you want.

I know what you mean last time i decided to lose weight and excelled all i could of imagined this time i think i should be that size now and i'm no where near.I think you get a bit impatient and cocky when you'v done it before and kind of sbatage yourself.i don't know still trying to figure myself out lol.

I lost lb this week and i feel good. The runs are going well and although i'm losing really slow this time i'm just happy to see it go down by every ounze if i have to lol but i'm determind and sticking it out.

Plus the fact that i'v got 3 weddings this year i want to try my best. The eating out thing is awful you do it once, twice grrr but you can bring it back and try to eat lighter meals the rest of the day.
