My name is Lisa. I'm 50-years-young. I've been overweight most of my adult life, and at 5' 3" it shows! I've lost 40 lbs. since February 2012 (when I started eating healthy) and about 70 lbs. total since 2008. I've also lowered my blood pressure and cholesterol levels. (I've been able to cut my dosages of blood pressure meds in half and dropped one medication totally!) Eating healthy is now a way of life for me, and I can't wait to get to my goal. With God's help, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me! :)

My Program:
In February 2012, my doctor told me that my heart disease risk from cholesterol and high triglycerides were the highest she had ever seen. (Never have a lipid panel checked three days after Christmas!) She put me back on Simvastatin, but I also decided that if I wanted to see my grandkids grow up, I needed to make changes in my lifestyle. I started eating healthy foods, cut out the diet sodas, fast foods, fried foods, and sweets. Now I eat fruits, veggies, lean meats, a little dairy, whole grains, and drink water. And I feel and look worlds better! I can't wait to reach my goal. I know I can do this. :)

Personal Information:
I was born in and now live in Knoxville, TN, though I lived for 37 years in Lakeland, FL. I'm divorced and have three grown children, seven grandchildren, and two furbabies. I'm the department head and instructor of the health information management department at a local technical college. My hobbies include computers, reading, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
