I've been a member of SparkPeople for a LONG TIME, and still have not reached my goal. Why? Simple: I haven't made the commitment. What I HAVE made are excuses. I need to convince myself that I AM worth the effort!!!

Update, 10/29/2015

So...have I made the commitment yet??? NO! But all of that is about to change. I think I don't try, because I don't truly believe I can succeed. So for the next month, I am going to stick with it. And prove to myself once and for all that YES, I CAN lose weight and keep it off.

So I'm setting a lofty goal of losing 10 pounds in the month of November. I know it will be hard to meet that goal. But I also know (from past experience, I have a lot of that) if I set a smaller, more seemingly attainable goal (like 5 pounds), I'll think I have plenty of time and I won't try as hard. So, 10 pounds it is.

I would like to reach my goal weight by the end of 2014.

I would also like to lose 10 (or more) inches from my waist.


My Program:
To reach my goals, I am following a healthy diet and also limiting the amount of sugar and sweets I eat. I really love fruits and vegetables, so I'm making those the main focus of my meals.

I'm 44, happily married to my best friend, and Mom to 2 awesome kids.

We have 2 dogs and 5 cats.
