I've battled my weight practically my whole life. I've been a yo-yo dieter-you name a diet, I've done it! I was always about 20, 30, 40 lbs overweight and I'd lose some weight, and then gain back that plus more. I was 150 lbs when I became pregnant with my first child at 22. By the time I was 47, I had ballooned up to 256 lbs with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, low self esteem, and depression. Also, denial.. that I wasn't just a big, healthy woman. I've battled my weight practically my whole life. I've been a yo-yo dieter-you name a diet, I've done it! I was always about 20, 30, 40 lbs overweight and I'd lose some weight, and then gain back that plus more. I was 150 lbs when I became pregnant with my first child at 22. By the time I was 47, I had ballooned up to 256 lbs with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, low self esteem, and depression. Also, denial.. that I wasn't just a big, healthy woman. My Doctor informed me that I was killing myself, and finally I listened.. I started my journey in March, 2008. Since then I actually got 12 lbs from my goal. However, I had a blip and went back up to 205 lbs.. I'm on my way back down to my goal now. When I get to my goal, I hope to maintain somewhere about 5 lbs below that. As I belong to TOPS (taking off lbs sensibly group) It's been a journey with many trials, but I'm learning and getting there.

My Goals:
I was 256 in March 08. May 3, 2013 I am 175.5 on May 3, 2013. I've had some gains along the way and find keeping it off a struggle, but, I'm not ready to give up and I'm well on my way.. My goal is 160 lbs.
My Program:
I go to weekly meetings at TOPS (Taking off pounds sensibly) a non profit weight loss support group. I follow the canada food guide and a healthy diet. I keep a food journal and my calories between 1200 to 1300 per day. I exercise (mostly hiking//walking) and have recently began exercising more and more.
Personal Information:
I am married, have two children (girls) from a previous marriage and my husband has two children from a previous marriage as well. We have a granddaughter who is turning 4 this year (2013). Our kids are all living on their own now so it's just us and our dog emma who is 15 years old now.
Other Information:
I know how much it hurts to be obese. I would like to be a support for other people along the way and once I reach my weight loss goals..
