NOT A LOST CAUSE

Hi, my name is Sandra I' am 33 years old. I started my journey with Sparkpeople on July 25th 2011 in hopes of helping to lower my blood pressure and lose some weight. Most of my young adult life i have been a BIG girl. Many of my friends, relatives, and co-worker's have made negative comments about my weight. Those comments affected me so deeply that i gave up on trying to lose weight and thought it was impossible and that i should just be happy and content with being a Big Girl. Back in the day when i was 19 years old i lost about 50 lbs but ended up gaining it all back plus some. It was hard to maintain because i did it for the wrong reasons and i didn't have a good support system back then. I now believe I will continue to lose and get to my ultimate weight loss goal one day. WHY? you may ask, well this time around my mindset is different and i have realistic goals
2011 and 2012 is the time for me to take care of myself and be more STRONG AND HAPPY :)

My Goals:
Before starting Sparkpeople i lost about 15 pounds and in july of 2011 my sister suggested i try Sparkpeople so i signed up and started to follow their guidelines and used their tools and lost 30 lbs since then. Total weight loss as of December 19 2011 was 55 lbs. My goal for 2012 is to continue to lose between 5 to 6 lbs a month by tracking everything i consume and to continue and be more consistent with my daily workouts & to start with strength training. My ultimate long term goal is to lose a total of 100 lbs within the next year in a half.

My Program:
Exercise 4- 6 days a week Track Food

Mix up my workouts by walking at lake murray, workout at gym, use the wii at home for dance and zumba exercise to avoid from getting bored with the same workout routine.

Eat between 1200 to 1560 calories a day

My exercise routine is to workout at least 4-6 days a week and a couple days of strength training - using the kettlebell for now.
