Getting started with the Low Carb Lifestyle. Atkins. My son was diagnosed with Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma Cancer 2 years ago when he was just 2 year old. We have lived in the hospital for the better part of those two years. Trapped in a hospital room eating nothing but bad hospital food and out of a vending machine and not being able to be as active as I used to be has not been good to me or my waistline. I'm needing to get my life back on track for me and for my kids.

My Goals:
Going to get back in shape after sitting around hospital rooms with my son who has cancer, for the last 2 years. By this time next year would love to be able to run the Half Marathon in New York where Jacob has been being treated to help raise some money for Childhood Cancer Research.

My Program:
Low Carb Lifestyle in Combination with lots of Strength Training, Cardio and Running.

Personal Information:
We live in Dallas, Texas but since my son was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago, we have been living at the Ronald McDonald House in New York City where he is being treated. It has become our 2nd home.

Other Information:
Enjoying every second I get to spend with my kids. Childhood Cancer Advocate. Huge lover of blues music and New Orleans. Enjoy good movies, good music and good food. And now, Low Carb Life member.

I LOVE the Atkins Diet, and I am excited that you have joined the team. So Welcome, welcome, welcome! I hope you become an active member so that we all can enjoy your company! It is gonna be slow going getting started --the team has no leader, and it IS January after all -- but with some enthusiasm shown by all the new members, we can really make it happen and get close and be supportive - or make the weight go away; I am good with that!

Incidentally, there are a few long time active members (I am one), so there is good support out there to be had for the asking. Again, welcome and glad to have you!

Be strong for your son. If he can fight day by day, so can you!
