Shannon's Journey to a happier, healthier, thinner me! I lost a total of 40+ pounds with SparkPeople and I am a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers!
Since having baby #3 in August 2010, I am getting back to my healthier self. I joined a Weight Watchers at work program in January 2011, and I am committed to living a Spark'd life and staying healthy! I reached my goal range on June 1, 2011, and I am back on track and continuing on with the maintenance portion of my journey!
~ Losing weight helps you look good in clothes. Exercise helps you look good naked. ;-)
~ Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.
~ Today I will, beacause I can, and I deserve to be healthy!
~ You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. You may have to work for it, however.
~ There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is.
~ Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.
~ We should consider every day lost in which we have not danced at least once.
~ “Know your limits…but never stop trying to exceed them.”
~ It is never too late to be what you might have been.
~ Set your goals high, and don’t stop till you get there.
~ You will never find time for anything. You must make it.
~ Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
~ Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can.
~ Work like you don’t need the money. Love like you’ve never been hurt. Dance like nobody’s watching.
~ Know the true value of time; snatch, seize and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness…never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
~ Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could…
~ If you want to make good use of your time, you've got to know what's most important and then give it all you got.
~ Life is not easy for any of us, but what of that? We must have perseverance and, above all, confidence in ourselves.
~ It may be alright to be content with what you have, never with what you are.
~ There are no short cuts to any place worth going.
~ Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
~ Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no ones definition of your life; define yourself.
~ You get credit for what you finish, not what you start.
~ Maintain my weight in a range of 130-135 lbs
~ Eat healthier and be healthier overall, including a minimum of 5-8 servings of fruits/veggies and 8 servings of water per day
~ Incorporate regular exercise
~ Demonstrate good eating and fitness habits for my children
I am trying to improve my general health and maintain my current weight by:
~ Staying within my daily recommended calorie range
~ Eating more fruits and veggies
~ Using a pedometer and aiming for 10,000 steps per day
~ Getting in plenty of cardio using my elliptical trainer, going to Zumba, or jogging/walking outside at least 2x per week
~ Trying to add core and strength training using the Wii Fit, Kinect, exercise ball, and Jillian Michaels or Biggest Loser workout videos
~ Aiming for at least 64oz of water per day.
~ Taking my daily vitamin
