I'm totally goal focused, and am now training for a marathon. I prefer running as my favorite exercise for how it makes me feel - I'm surprised sometimes at what I can do.
I'm not so good managing my food intake. I would like to lose about 15-20 more pounds and am looking to you, my sparkpeople friends, for help & advice.

I will happily share any wisdom I have learned, and would like to help inspire others.
I only successfully lost weight (from 166 to 142 lbs) when I focused on what I could do (exercise) and less on the scale, and the biggest help - giving up the guilt of eating stuff I thought I shouldn't. When I relaxed, the weight kind of fell off. I've got to tweak it a bit now to get to my goal weight.

Adding later 4/18/10: Having my prior weight loss included with my current goals is stressing me out (I don't know why? Maybe it's hard to see myself be successful?)
So I'm starting it back up at 142 as my start weight instead of 166. I like the shorter term goals posted over long term progress, at least for a daily reminder.

4/23/10 - working on two things.
1. List of my needs and go-to people.
2. More specific goals and including rewards with them.

My Goals:
I love running - and how it makes me feel a sense of accomplishment. I'm happy-go-lucky and training for my 2nd marathon, would like to lose some weight to race a little faster (I'm no speed demon). Sparkpeople has the BEST support network & friends, and I enjoy sharing what I know and LEARNING, too! Good vibes, all around.

My Program:
Following a Hal Higdon training guide leading up to a marthon 5/30/10 in Madison, WI.
Registered also for a marathon in October 2010 in Des Moines, IA.
