This is about the journey - not the destination.

If you do what you've always done, you'll be where you've always been... and when it comes to getting to a healthy weight and living well, you cannot continue to do what you've always done. You have to want change, and want it badly enough to do something about it. I'm DOING SOMETHING about it. Are you with me? Anyone want a reeeeeally committed weight-loss buddy? :)

Background: back in the day - circa August 2006 - I used to weigh 210 pounds. I got down to 140 by August of 2007 - let myself go and slowly found myself at 175 on January 1, 2010, and now I'm back down with just a scant few pounds left to lose!

I usually don't have any trouble finding ways to exercise (I am a bellydancer and dance ~4 times per week - not including performances), and eating healthy is usually not a problem as I am a vegetarian (nearly vegan, really...) - but I obviously need to fine-tune what I'm doing if I'm going to finally get to my goal of 120 - 125. Just TRY to stop me. :)

My Goals:
1) Keep on rocking the good choices and healthy habits. :)

2) Get better sleep.

3) Maintain a lifestyle of whole wellness - mind, body, AND spirit.

4) I do a lot of theatre, and it is a fact that actresses who are in better shape usually get better parts. Sometimes, it's not enough to be talented, and I want to bring both my talent and my fit, toned body to my auditions!

My Program:
Going vegetarian (very nearly vegan) was a huge asset to helping me lose weight - and I dance. A LOT. The combination of the two has given me much success... not just because they are beneficial on their own (eating right and moving more), but because they are in line with the things I am passionate about (animal life and creativity). To thine own self be true... and the rest will fall into place. Life lesson, there. I'm also a big Tony Horton enthusiast; his programs are biomechanically sound and efficient.

Personal Information:
Live in Bear, DE with my husband Andrew, along with our four bossy cats and a ginormous Great Dane/Boxer puppydog. (It's like sharing a house with a pony on crack.) I'm a legal admin by day and a bellydancer/burlesque siren by night. I like the Oxford comma.

Other Information:
You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Hi there. I just started running in minimalist shoes, in my case Merrell Pace and Dash gloves. I really like them and it is making my feet stronger. Not sure what training method you use, but I have found Jeff Galloway www.jeffgalloway.com to be a very good and injury free system.
Way to go with the P90X, you rock !!

Thanks for getting back about the shoes, will have to look at them. She might be good for short runs since she doesn't have the short boxer nose. I also take mine hiking which helps their and my cardio but easier on the joints. Your pictures look great. I'm just trying to get to the point where I can do a single real push-up and where my belly shows muscle rather than fat, LOL, hopefully by my next birthday at the end of August. You are an inspiration! emoticon
