You asked about rest days, and I'm not an expert, but I own a heart rate monitor, and part of the information it gives me on the web page, is about training load and how sometimes, when I accumulate a high training load, it's time to rest. So I think that resting is necessary for your body... And it won't hurt as long as you workout 4 or more times a week. 1470 days ago
