PDYYS Sufferer (Post Diet Yo-Yo Syndrome)

I'm a "ridiculously-sensitive-about-my-age" microbiologist. I have been married for 7 years. No children, just my German Shepherd fur-baby. I live in Wichita, Kansas, although I am from Fort Collins, Colorado originally, I have been in KS for about 10 years. I gained a dramatic amount of weight after moving to Wichita, and have yo-yo'd within a 30 pound range for many years. I am an admitted, lazy, junk food addict, who likes my cocktails just a little too much. I know what I need to do ...

I gained a dramatic amount of weight after moving to Wichita, and have yo-yo'd within a 30 pound range for many years. I am an admitted, lazy, junk food addict, who likes my cocktails just a little too much. I know what I need to do to get healthy, I honestly just choose to do the opposite and then hate myself for it later! But with an upcoming milestone birthday and continuous health problems I'm looking to try, yet again, to be more cognisant of my eating and exercise habits.

My Goals:
I'd like to lose 20lbs, I'd LOVE to lose 25!! I'm looking to increase my energy level, as I sleep waaaaay too much for NOT having a dysfunctional thyroid. I do, however, have a seriously dysfunctional spine, so dropping weight and strengthening my core muscles and flexibility, is actually something I must achieve to prevent any more "I've fallen and can't get up" moments. Decreasing my stress and depression is a positive side affect I'm hoping will result!

My Program:
Just trying to stay within my calorie range each day, and eating a little healthier to reach that range. I'm trying to get back to the gym, and starting slowly with just walking. Hoping to build from there.

Other Information:
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
