I am a mother of 3 children and looking to get healthier. I am tired of the wishey washey blah blah and want to get my act together! This is take two on Spark and I am motivated to make it work this time. I am tired of gaining a few here and a few there, and the benefits of a cold to lose a few (NOT!) which just come right back! With the busy schedule that my children hold I am trying to balance ME time with the daily schedule. No more gaining for me and would like to lose a few extra lbs while I am at it. My goal is 10 lbs at a time and making better food choices even if we are eating out due to scheduling and practices. I will not leave home without my Calorie King book again!
UPDATE...10/15/09...I have lost a total of 30 lbs with Spark, I have met great friends online and have gone from a size 16 (I know scary at this point) to a size 10. I am smaller now that I was before I had my son 10 years ago. I can probably get into an 8, but I am not personally ready for a single didget yet. I know that sounds odd. I will get there as I have 5-10 more lbs to lose before I reach my second goal. This really is a life changing journey I am on, I have changed ME for ME and no one else. I am a happier person now, and my kids love having a "skinny" mommy. For the record, NO, I have not left home without my Calorie King book ever!
UPDATE...12/4/09-I have reached my second goal weight of losing 40 lbs on 11/17/09. Sine then I have maintained and actually floated down another pound. I feel great. I still log my food and eat what I know I can eat within my daily calories. I have bought all new clothes and currently am in a size 8 pant and a medium top. I am 5'7" so I think that I will try to maintain for a bit then go from there. At this point I have so many strangers stopping me in the building that I work in saying that they did not recognize me as well as perfect strangers ask me what diet I am on when they hear me order my food. I then have to go into the whole story of "this is not a diet, but a lifestyle change". One lady in Subway stopped me last night and I took the time to talk to her for a good 30 minutes about Spark and the diet. I had no spark cards, so I was bummed, but I will get them in my purse. Never realized until lately how important they are. I have a whole new outlook on life and an in a compeletly different place. I really LOVE ME!!!! I love getting dressed in the morning, love putting on makeup and doing my hair, love working out, and love being out on the town with my family. Wow, what an amazing change!
UPDATE 4/12/10 - Well, I have lost 53 lbs total through my Spark experience. I have learned a lot about food and a lot about me as a person! I currently am wearing a size 4/6 and small/med top. I am in the process of repurchasing my clothing for the second time....gurr! I have gone from a 16 to a 10 and now to a 4/6 pant. I wanted to be done about a 8/10, but I am still losing. I still eat my regular diet that I have eaten since I started Spark in July 09, I have backed off my exercise and now allow myself a tad more lienenancy on my eating, but I am still gradually losing. Currently the only thing that I am doing is walking at least 7,000 to 10,000 steps a day and trying to fit a good workout run/walk in twice a week...if that is possible. Still running 5K's and loving it. Enjoying life to the fulles and my new nickname complilments to my children is paper. Yes, they call me paper because I am so thin. I find it humerous, they are serouus about it, so if I every end up in the recycle bin someone please retrieve me. :-)
11/14/10 - Ran my first half marathon 4 months pregnant. It was an amazing experience. See the blog for pics and more details.
8/26/11 - Just getting back in the grove of things after having the baby! Ready to get back to focusing on me and being healthy!
6/17/12 - I am back with a vengeance! I have lost all the baby weight and am back at 139 lbs. I have completed my goal event for the year which was my triathlon sprint on 5/5/12. Spark friends joined me on my self supported and designed route. I had Livestrong 2010 with me the whole way and my running buddy that I met while training for my first half marathon completed the run with me. I have given my supplement regiment a complete makeover and now only use Advocare products! What a difference quality products make in my health and it proves, quality in, quality out! The baby is 14 months old and getting bigger and bigger. I am very greatful for my spark friends! You have been there with me through the long haul and together WE can accomplish ANYTHING!!
My Goals are really technical...just kidding. I just want to lose weight and be healthy for myself and my family.
I am starting out to watch my calorie intake for the day and try to add in exercise as I can. I will not turn down a few minutes of exercise when I can squeeze it in.
