Steve

I have no idea what or why it happened but after 44 years something clicked and now I want to eat better and exercise more. I am not sure if it is some sort of mid life thing but whatever it is it sure took hold. I have never liked to run and barely liked walking just to walk. If it was baseball, basketball, hiking or hunting I would do it all day long.

So while I could be active it was a choice I selfishly made to only do when I wanted to do it. Now it is something I want to do in ...

So while I could be active it was a choice I selfishly made to only do when I wanted to do it. Now it is something I want to do in addition to any other activity.

Today is the beginning of the rest of my life.

Thanks for the comment on my feed. What a great way to look at it. I did have an awesome interval session after my last day off. Something to look forward to.

Hey!
I just want to tell you that I did the week 3 of the E2-10K run/walk today! It's the 10 week program instead of the 6 week one. I think I'm on to something! I was able to do all five, 5 min, runs at 4.6 and walk at 3.7. That's the thing I was afraid of. I'm pretty ok at 4.5 for 30 minutes but that's not 5k! The run/walk, like during the workout today showed me I can go from one speed to another without dying! LOL!:))

Hey there!
You have been so incredibly helpful I wanted to come by and tell you I GOT NEW SHOES ON THURSDAY! I went to Academy Sports & Outdoors and got a pair of Saucony running shoes!!!!! $44 and change! I did try on the Asics Gel that were $125, I liked the Saucony better! I can see if I was running on hard pavement where he gels would be nice. But, I'm SO NEW to the whole world of running the ones I got are great! To me anyway! LOL!:)) When I get more experienced and picky I might just HAVE TO HAVE to expensive ones! J/K! LOL! The Saucony's felt more comfortable when I ran up and down the aisles! HAHA! I think the Asics are too much shoe for a treadmill. You know what I mean?

So, thanks again! And my feet feet REALLY say thank you!!! They can breath through the mesh unlike the leather! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Cool... the shoe info. That is the BEST answer I've gotten and I've been asking a while!:)) I think if I'm ok with the $12 shoes anything better than that would be an improvement! LOL!:)) I did try on ASICS at the Footlocker and found they weren't nearly as cooshy as the ones from K-mart. I like soft landings cuz of bad knees and I shattered my right leg from mid-shin down years ago. No surgery though. Oh, they wanted to of course but I said UH UH!!! I've seen what happens with that!

Thanks SO much!

HAHA That's funny! I have to walk about 30-40 yrds. to where my treadmill is and I HAVE to wear the same thing everyday or it just feels weird!:)) But, I tell ya, walking in 30-40 degrees in shorts is NOT my idea of fun!!! I'm a Southern girl and turn blue when the thermometer goes below 70*!!!

I think I need new shoes! They're so expensive! Any suggestion? The only places I have to choose from are Academy Sports & Outdoors, Hibbit, Sears & K-Mart. I went to Footlocker and they were rude, not helpful and only interested in making a buck. I have no idea what Hibbit is! I wear K-Mart right now. I know they're not the best but I've been running in them since I started this and have had no problems. Do Expensive shoes really make that big a difference?

Thanks
TIPY
