My Program:
 I'm telling myself to walk at every opportunity. I'm tracking my food and staying within the calories guideline for me. I'm talking to friends and family about Sparkpeople, and going on line to encourge those on my teams.

Personal Information:
I am from the Southern Oregon Coast of Oregon. Go Ducks!
I have a Collie who needs, even wants to walk. I like to garden, sew, and most any crafting. I love to read and listen to books on tape. I do alterations for just about anyone or thing, but my favorite is to do Wedding gown alterations, especially bustling. What fun to see the beautiful young, and and older brides starting out their new lives.
I graduated from the University of Oregon when I was in my mid forties so I guess you could say I'm a late bloomer.

I can't believe how much time I have let slip by without loosing my weight. I will do a better job from now on. I have worked hard to lower my cholesterol, and increase my walking. Eating a healthy cancer prevention diet. I am using hand weights to tone up. I have started some work with an exercise ball. I really need to go to a gym but don't like that commitment. I'm a work in progress, I see my doctor in September and hope to surprise him. This past week I had lost 20 pounds, raised my hdl, and lowered my ldl. I'm very proud. emoticon

So you knew Ruth Stutesman. I met her when Elkton and Powers band were mingled to play at a basketball tournament in Roseburg. We both played the trumpet. I also met Marjorie Frye then as well (had a nickname of mouse, she was 4' 11") . Ruth and I went together for about a year and even came to visit us for a week in Elkton. She had very trustworthy parents. Marjorie Frye invited me to the Powers High School Prom. Every time I hear the song Green Onions I remember the Powers Prom. Marjorie went to Beauty College with my Sister in Eugene. I also knew a kid by the name of Lincoln who joined the Navy and I saw him at basic training. All of these activities took place around 1960-1963

I see from a post on the Oregon Team you used to live in Powers. When I was in High School we played Powers in football and basketball. We lived in Elkton. Long hall to Powers. But I did have a couple of girlfriends there and went to the Powers High School Prom. I went with a girl Ruthie Stutesman. I also know someone by the name of Lincoln who I eventually saw while In the Navy in boot-camp. The Ross family moved from Elkton to Powers. Jerry Ross played football, pretty tough customer. Leona Ross was a year ahead of me in school. and Janetta Ross 2 years ahead. There are a few other, the names escape me, that I knew. One of the thing I remember most is the tough football team. Some of the biggest guys I played against.
