I'm a 33 year old mom of 7 (3 with special needs) who is ready to give weight loss another try.

Back in November ('10) I weighed 323, having gained 50 pounds within months of one of my twins being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and another 25 when my oldest daughter was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I tried to guilt myself into losing weight, especially for my CP child, who may be fully dependent on me his whole life, but it never worked for long.

At that point I broke down and started buying dresses from a mega plus size catalog because I gave up and accepted that I was just going to get fatter and fatter...and at least big dresses wouldn't feel tight around my stomach.

I enrolled in Berean classes because the children I serve deserve someone educated (and because I'm nerdy like that) and noticed that I was slowly losing a few pounds without trying...I was so busy studying that I wasn't eating as much!

On April 1st a speaker came to our church and stayed for a few weeks. I lost a few pounds during her stay because going to church each night left me less time to eat and filled something in my soul I had been feeding cheeseburgers to.

One night, just before Easter, I was praying in the altar and she said "The door is open...if you NEED something of God, just ask Him!".

I told God I wanted to be whole...body, mind (I deal with depression), and spirit.

A few nights later I dreamed that I was thinner, dressed in workout clothes and sweating...there were a couple of ladies holding me up telling me that I had come so far...keep moving!

I woke up and laughed because *I* don't work out.

April 27th was my 33rd birthday. I weighed in at 310 and knew it was time to buckle down and make a change. I've worked out 5-6 days a week since then and I'm feeling strong and noticing improvements.

Now to keep moving...

Fitness Minutes: 9,180

My Goals:
Get down to 270 by August 1st for a biggest loser challenge on one of my favorite boards.

Ultimately, my goal is 165 (which is still somehow considered overweight?!?!) so I'm in this for the long haul.

***August 1st GOAL EXCEDED!!!! Won the challenge and weighed in at 257!

Goal now is 220 by Thanksgiving. It's a lofty goal, but I think I can do it.

My Program:
Exercising alot and not mindlessly eating junk.

I eat mostly low carb and loads of veg. I drink water by the gallons. I keep moving when I hate it.

Personal Information:
I joined back in 2006 as missmunky but when I came back (again) recently I started a new profile because I needed a fresh start. My journey can't be based on past failures, I have to look to the future.

Other Information:
I'm an unschooling, Christ following, Children's Ministry leading mom of 7 amazing munkies, 3 of which have special/medical needs.
