I've struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I was never one of those people who was severely overweight but I've always been the chubby friend, "pleasantly plump", and even fluffy. When I was fourteen I battled with a bought of anorexia and, while I lost about twenty five pounds, I gained all the weight back after I stopped dieting. For the first time in my life I am eating properly, cleaning the house, waking up after eight hours of sleep(before noon, a huge feat). My emotions and eczema are under control and I am making progress everyday. It is still hard and everyday is a struggle to better myself. I don't necessarily have much more to lose(as I am making this half way through my journey)but I would love to be slender and a proper size for my five foot frame. I am only twenty years old and have my whole life ahead of me. I spent my teens being uncomfortable and out of shape while my friends wore shorts and bikinis. I want to be able to wear a bikini in my twenties and be truly healthy and happy.

We all deserve to be happy and feel beautiful. I want to help others reach their goals and realize this and I would love to one day be a nutritionist or personal trainer.

My Goals:
I'd love to be able to wear a bikini before my 21st birthday. Vain, I know, but there it is.

Running has also always seemed kinda scary so I would love to someday be able to run for more than just a minute. I haven't quite tackled that yet.

-to be fit
-to be toned
-to have at least close to a flat stomach
-to eat healthy most of the time
-to love myself!

My Program:
I try to walk at least half an hour everyday(not including what I do in the house. I have always loved walking). I weight train with the Biggest Loser Sculpting DVD three days a week and do cardio on alternating days. For cardio I either do the Biggest Loser Cardio DVD or I do the elliptical.

Being five foot tall and having a small frame means I have to weigh very little to look like someone who is average height. It's difficult to accept and explain to others but it's my lot.

    Oh yes the changes in weight is frustrating! I dont have a scale at home and I weigh only when I am at gym. Its rare but even those days if I see any thing more than 153 I get irritated.. So I avoid it. Especially past 2-3 weeks have been tough on eating and its my TOM.. so I have gained 3 lbs!!

    I eat cheese.. I must try cottage cheese.. Are they also very high in proteins?

    I have not tried green teas even though I drink Indian style tea(chai) with some ginger in it...I wish my 5lbs would come off faster but it seems like I need to work very hard for that.. The last few lbs are really the tough ones!!

    Yeah I need to find out what egg beaters are too.. Waiting for my next grocery shopping to buy some protein based foods.. Today is going better with more emphasis on eating balanced food and not just carbs!!
    By the way you have been losing weight recently.. congrats on that!! Are you still drinking those teas?

    YEah my food is so much of carbs carbs and more carbs! I do try to include protein and fat but it never reaches my required range...I m still working on ways to cut cabs and get more protein/fats.. Well its the time crunch that makes me grab foods that are easy yet healthy. I dont see myself eating anything else other than regular food except for a cookie or chocolate here and there. My eating pattern has always been more carbs...

    I think once the semester is up I will concentrate on finding a meal plan that gets me all the nutrients and keeps me away from feeling hungry..

    Well your inputs are really valuable.. I am going to consider every word of it!! emoticon emoticon

    Hey Saw ur comment on shruti's blog...just wanted to say..I thot the calorie range in spark is for sedentry too..but if u change ur settings in "my fitness" and enter an estimate of calories burned during the week, it automatically sets your calorie range for consumption according to tat for weight loss...

    I used to eat under my range and didnt lose much so i realised i was wrong and should eat n my range...
