In August of 2009 I was at my highest weight ever, and decided it was time to do something about it. I've been up and down the scale ever since I can remember, and I'm hopeful that this will be the last time I have to make the long journey to my goal weight. ^_^

My Goals:
My current end-target is 140 pounds. (We'll see what I think when I get there!) In pursuit of that, I've set mini-goals every time I lose 10% of my body weight.

My Program:
I am all about appealing to my inner 12-year old -- bribery all the way! The rewards are small, but they do wonders to keep me motivated.

I get in 30 minutes of cardio 5 times a week. Every day I get in 30 minutes, I put a sticker on my calendar. When I hit the 150 minute mark for the week, I spring for a new mp3.

Strength-training happens 3 times a week. I'm still looking for a small reward for making my weekly goal, but I'm sure I'll come up with something appropriate sooner or later.

Personal Information:
Iím a fairly geeky girl who loves to play board and video games, table-top RPGs (when I can find a group that cares more about the story and less about the dice rolls), read, cook and knit.

While I have a weakness for sci-fi and fantasy books, movies, and TV shows, I'm also incredibly fond of Jane Austen, Shakespeare, children's books, and the Victorians. (And, uh, the movie Twister, because FLYING COWS ARE AWESOME.)

Thanks for the cup of tea and the support! For as many things as went wrong in the past week, I had a pretty good time of it, and everyone has been so wonderful. I don't like being so immobile, but I will figure out some way to ruthlessly pursue my goals, broken ankle or not!
