I have an herb garden and several flower beds. I am a bird watcher. I keep feeders and water in the backyard for them. I love cats. I have two indoor only cats. I am a musician. I used to play the oboe. I am trading it in for a clarinet. I am sick of reed making, and I'm not going to spend my time on it anymore! I enjoy a variety of exercise, but swimming is my favorite.

I love everything about food. I love growing it, canning and freezing it, and eating it! I love to feel full, and I have quite an appetite. I am at a turning point in my Spark journey. I would like to lose about 20 more pounds, but I am ambivalent about making still more lifestyle changes that would take the weight off and keep it off. My doctors are thrilled with my weight as is. This weight is easy to maintain. What to do?

The problem is, this weight makes me feel mediocre. I look good, but not great. My fitness level is good, but not great. I want to be great, but I'm unwilling to make the long term changes that it will take to achieve that goal. The drama continues. What will I decide? At this point not even I know the answer to that question.

I am tracking my food, eating 1200-1500 calories a day.
I am swimming 3 times a week, a half mile a day.

Thanks for checking in on me and my kitty Marley. He seems to be doing pretty well on the insulin shots. I think it's been just over three weeks now, and he seems a little more like his old self, so I'm happy about that. I had to go out of town unexpectedly last weekend though, and ran out of options other than bringing him to the vet for medical boarding (which cost an arm a leg, since they for some reason believe diabetic cats need to be put into the "icu" for animals.) He had good care, but stopped eating while he was there. I think the stress of separating him from the other cat (who stayed home for the three days), wasn't worth it. So I've found a pet sitting company for future needs that can check in on the cats twice a day, and give Marley his insulin shots. He has to go for an all day glucose curve test on Sunday -- where they do serial glucose blood tests on him -- poor thing! But things seem to be going fine for now, so for that I'm quite happy. It's not been nearly as bad giving him shots as I had anticipated, so that's been good too. Thanks for checking in on us! Now I've got to get myself back on track -- I feel like I'm definitely doing the cha-cha (or yoyo) lately. Although after reading your blog about swimming, I think that might be something different I can try.

Oh, wow! I can see where Sundays are a killer for you and your eating. An hour and 45 minutes each way to church? My goodness, what a long drive! My church is about 10 minutes away, for which I am very thankful!

I am sure you know that it has been proven sleep deprivation makes one hungrier! Kudos to you for managing it as well as you do! emoticon emoticon

Congrats on the new-to-you skirt! Nice trade!

I didn't go to the Dr. It eased off with heat and rest and I knew it was just a muscle overstrained/spasming. I'm having to be careful not to overdo it since then as I've felt it twinge a few times when I get squirrely. lol. I'll be careful.
