I have an herb garden and several flower beds. I am a bird watcher. I keep feeders and water in the backyard for them. I love cats. I have two indoor only cats. I am a musician. I used to play the oboe. I am trading it in for a clarinet. I am sick of reed making, and I'm not going to spend my time on it anymore! I enjoy a variety of exercise, but swimming is my favorite.

I love everything about food. I love growing it, canning and freezing it, and eating it! I love to feel full, and I have quite an appetite. I am at a turning point in my Spark journey. I would like to lose about 20 more pounds, but I am ambivalent about making still more lifestyle changes that would take the weight off and keep it off. My doctors are thrilled with my weight as is. This weight is easy to maintain. What to do?

The problem is, this weight makes me feel mediocre. I look good, but not great. My fitness level is good, but not great. I want to be great, but I'm unwilling to make the long term changes that it will take to achieve that goal. The drama continues. What will I decide? At this point not even I know the answer to that question.

I am tracking my food, eating 1200-1500 calories a day.
I am swimming 3 times a week, a half mile a day.
I am using my physical therapy exercises for strength training twice a week.
I walk twice a week for 50 minutes.

Yeah, that music group is not one I listen to. Too hard rock for me. My tastes are more like yours. That lyric line about depression really nailed it in my mind as well. I've really discovered that my weight issue is just a symptom of emotional issues, really. When you struggle with things like depression or low self-worth, it's too easy to wrap yourself up in a cocoon of food and inactivity. Thankfully, I have learned to deal with both and am emerging, although there are often set-backs. Just doing the cha-cha forward. LOL.

So good to hear from you -- yes, I have been missing in action from here for awhile -- although I really should (need to) get back and get started again (because what I'm doing now is not helping). Hope that life is treating you well. Life is good here, but work has gone from bad to worse -- which has lead to some really unhealthy habits for me trying to deal (or not deal) with the stress. Thanks for the note. I think I will work on reworking my page this weekend and think about how using the online blog here can help me. My two cats Marley and Sasha say hello -- they are helping me type tonight. Such funny cats. If only I could take them to work with me, that might help make my work situation more bearable.
