I have tried everything to lose weight. I have battled for years with my size and usually end up gaining back more than I lost. I don't have much positive support in losing the weight. I have wonderful, loving people in my life, but they love me as I am and I hear a lot of "there's no reason to lose weight, I love you as you are" from the best of them or "You never keep the weight off, so why bother" from the rest. Nearly 30 years of needing total joint replacements that we thought were not possible (not going into the reasons why, they're in the "need to let go" category) really contributed to the weight gains.
I had both knees replaced 3 years ago. It was the best thing I could have done for myself. Now, I just need to get myself back in gear, get the weight off again, and keep it off this time!
I will be going back to school in a few weeks, and while most people say "don't try to do too many things at once, you will fail" that doesn't work for me. I tend to do better when I'm actually doing several things at once. It's a momentum thing for me. If I slip on one thing while I'm working on several, I will pull myself back in line faster. If I slip while I'm only doing one thing, I give up. There are good and bad things about knowing yourself this well.
So, here we go...again...
Lose 10lbs before 1st surgery -well that didn't happen, surgery got moved up. I did lose 3lbs.
Wear smaller jeans than my husband

Weigh under 200

Thanks for sharing your class information - I was curious. Can see some connections but, like you, I am careful and limit my social media interactions. Before I retired, my employer was incorporating involvement in professional organizations into the evaluation process. I had been very active for most of my career but bristled at the mandate. Hopefully you will make useful contacts through these course activities. Good luck with your studies and your business!

Who would think how difficult a simple chore could be... I'm glad you prevailed though and were successful in accepting your goal. Bunny food found all in the same long day! In the end you have a happy rabbit!

stopping by to remind you that when we commit to losing weight, we need to create small realistic goals that are attainable. Small goals could be anything like getting in your daily serving of fruit and vegetables.
Remember when it comes to vegetables, we are just talking your typical tomato, carrot and celery to eat or snack on. When it comes to vegetables then are many to chose from like kale, collard greens, mustard greens and other dark leafy greens. The darker green the leaf the more fiber the vegetable has and the better it is for your digestion.
We also have purple, yellow and orange carrots, purple potatoes, red, green and yellow onions. Then there is whole multitude of other vegetables like summer, butter, winter, pumpkin squashes, radishes can be white or pink, even red. Then look at those beautiful black egg plants they to can come in different colors. The point is don't be afraid to experiment with different types of foods. And let's not forget our fruits, they can be sweet or sour, you can use them for desserts, smoothies, juices, snacks and so much more if you are a creative cook.
If you don't like water, this too can be another small goal, try making a goal to drink at least 5 glasses of water 5 days a week.
And most importantly when you reach your small goal, don't forget to reward yourself with a non-food reward for achieving that goal.
Then it is time to move the goal up a little. Like the water from 5 glasses to 6 per day.
And also you will want to "Fire up your sneakers to get at least 10+minutes of exercise at least 3-5 times a week." I know you can...You are ready to take that first step and commit yourself to a "HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE".... "A HEALTHIER NEW YOU"....

I'm so sorry to hear about Leo's death. I know you'll miss him. Our pets are so important in our lives and it hurts when they die, no matter what the cause.
