Hello! My name is December Eve and I am 37 years old. Since 2008, I have been living and working overseas as an English/ESL teacher. Currently, I reside in Adana, Turkey.

My weight has been a challenge for me since I was a teen. I can still remember getting on the scale when I was 15 and weighing in at 150+ lbs. I also remember crying and telling my parents about my weight. I also remember a (boy)friend telling me that I should watch my weight or I was going to end up heavy like my mother. I have not been under 150 lbs. since that time. My ultimate goal is to get under 150 lbs., but this nagging little voice always tells me that I can't and won't do it. I have to find a way to silence this thought.
Since that time, I now find myself at 228lbs and suffering from asthma and major back/leg/foot/joint pain. I am only 37 years old, but I wake up most mornings limping around and feeling like I am 87. :( Something has got to change. I don't want to feel like this anymore.
I've been a member of SparkPeople for several years and I've yo-yo'ed between 200-240 lbs for most of that time. Stress and work play a big part in me sticking to a regular diet and it seems the more I work the more I gain.

Goals:
*Finally get under 199 lbs. (-29 lbs)
*Get under 150 lbs ( -79lbs./1st time since I was 15 yrs old)
*Reach target weight of 145 lbs. (-83 lbs total!)

My Program:
1. Drinking lots of water/cutting calorie-laden drinks like soda, juice, sweet tea, etc. from my daily diet.
2. Staying away from processed/junk food items... Im trying to eat cleaner and healthier.
3. Trying to stay between 1200-1500 cal. most days.
4. Making breakfast a priority...Ive been skipping this for years.
5. Getting some form of exercise in daily, even if it's just walking my dog around the local park. I try to make it to the gym 4-5 days a week.
6. Weigh-in daily to monitor myself..
7. Take a picture of myself once a month as a means of visually motivating myself.
8. Setting up a reward system for meeting certain goals.
9. Watching my food intake at night (a personal weakness) because, historically, I tend to eat more in the evening. Also, the weekends are super hard for me because that's when I get together with friends.
10. Chewing sugar-free gum between meals. It keeps my mind off of eating food.
11. Started a 10 week challenge wit
