Losing It

I've been on Sparkpeople since January 2010- lost 15 pounds, gained 10 back, lost 5, lost 20, gained 5 back, maintained for a year, now have gained 5 back again...that puts me at 180. I'm 5'8".

I just moved to a new state for graduate school in Environmental Education and have an assistantship (20 hrs+ per week) as well- I'm busier than I've been since college and learning how to get everything done, including healthy eating and working out!

I know that attaining ...

I know that attaining goal weight (145-150) would make me feel on top of the world- but right now my focus is really just staying healthy and in shape and losing a few pounds so clothes fit better. Sometimes other goals (like career goals) have to take precedence for awhile.

2012 Goals:

Stay fit and active in graduate school...ie not GAIN weight and maybe lose a little
Run a sub-30 minute 5K


Really I just want to be able to wear those little silky running shorts with the stripes on the side and not have to deal with chaffing.

Run my first 5K on October 30, 2010! DONE in 36 MIN!!!
Run a 33 minute 5K on May 21, 2011! DONE 32:29

Run a half-marathon by 2013!

- fit back into my size 12 jeans and size 10 dresses DONE!
-buy size 10 pants
- not feel like the biggest girl in the room!


My Program:
I run.
And go to the gym for treadmill/elliptical/ swimming as it suits me...and group fitness classes!

Personal Information:
More people should have rabbits as pets!

Starting graduate school and an assistantship in a new state....figuring out where my healthy habits fit in with a lot less time!

It was so great to see you last week and I already can't wait til next month. I also just wanted to say that seeing you, JK, and Abi on here is truly an inspiration and I am so so so proud to call you all my sisters :) And I love that I can stalk all of your lives more now that I am on this site...so cool!

I miss you!! I hope all is well and you are keeping that man of yours in line. I think about you often and and am so glad we can get healthy together. You have always been a good exmple of a healthy a person and definitely someone I know has her stuff together. Also, I am so impressed by runners, amazing.

I'm teaching physics right now and with every arrow representing force I have to draw I miss you! Keep the good work :)

So sorry that happened to you! And you are exactly right- hopefully anyone who reads the blog and starts thinking about self defense would also take it to the level of applying it to friends they care for. I'd say that ranks right up there with "friends don;t let friend drive drunk" ...they also don;t let them walk home alone at midnight! You deserve kudos for making sure YOUR friends are safe!
