My New Life - As a Mom

I know that every woman that has ever had a child has been amazed by the process, but even knowing that, I was not prepared for the profound changes that pregnancy and motherhood brought about in my body and my mind.
My body became a literal bed of creation. I was full of the magic and wonder of being allowed to bring a whole new being into life. I am have never loved this body so much! Never! I glowed with the knowledge that every thing I did I shared with my baby. Pregnancy was ...

I glowed with the knowledge that every thing I did I shared with my baby. Pregnancy was not perfect - oh no - but it was magical nevertheless.
Now that he is here, my body has really taken a back seat other than as it relates to feeding him, carrying him, and loving him. But as far as me taking care of ME, well, that has not happened.

And now it is time.

My Goals:
*Eat nourishing, healthy and tasty food.
*Eat reasonable portions; and actually stop when I'm full.
*Exercise at least 3 days per week, for a minimum of 30 minutes.
*Yoga 2 times a week or more.
*Value each day.

Goal stage one: fit back into my pre-pregnancy size 14s.
Goal stage two: fit into my smaller-self size 12s.
Goal stage three: maintain an active, healthy, balanced lifestyle for the duration.

My Program:
This is a whole new approach:
1. Mindfulness meditation 6 days per week.
2. Yoga 2x per week.
3. Walk, dance or bike 3x per week.
4. Journal or blog 1x per week.
5. Eat more plant based foods and drink more water.


Personal Information:
I am a new mom, and I have the luck to be able to stay at home for a year with my little guy. I am truly loving it.

Other Information:
I am a happily married Missouri resident. I live in a great old house in a medium sized college town.
I love to cook, create, talk, sing, dance, read, and play. I am an avid environmentalist and am particularly passionate about healthy and sustainable food.
I have been trying to lose weight off and on for about the past, oh, forever, and am ready to be done with that!

I love how honest you are about your setbacks - that's a good thing, rather than denying them!! I see support from some other very successful Sparkers here, so you are in good hands! The biggest piece of advice I have? NEVER GIVE UP!!! You can do it!
