I always wanted to be fit and forty, but I ended up fat and forty instead! Since I recently embarked on a second career as an owner/manager of a candy shop/bakery/deli/pizzeria and apprentice chocolatier, I thought it best to change that "fat" to "fit" before it was too late.

I always wanted to be fit and forty, but I ended up fat and forty instead! Since I recently embarked on a second career as an owner/manager of a candy shop/bakery/deli/pizzeria and apprentice chocolatier, I thought it best to change that "fat" to "fit" before it was too late.

Luckily that second career is seasonal, but since my first career involves sitting at a computer all day, it's not much use either. Summers I work too hard on my feet all day to get any real exercise and winters I spend on my butt watching it rain through my home office window. I'm hoping to use SP and its community to help me keep moving. :)

Being finally diagnosed with pernicious anemia has helped as well because I now know the cause (serious Vitamin B deficiency) of my fatigue and chronic pain and have a treatment (regular B injections). It's a prickly solution, but I'm happy for it and am now finally able to work on bettering my health rather than just figuring out how to not sleep through the day.

I also have osteoarthritis and PCOS. None of these conditions are life-threatening (except untreated anemia), but they sure make you into a good and persistent whiner. They also sap your energy and give you a dose of chronic pain and fatigue. I don't so much mind having these health issues, but it would have been nice if one of them at least would have had weight loss instead of weight gain as a side effect. ;)

Anyway, the best treatment for all of the above is to lose that weight! I'm looking forward to it and also to meeting many of you.

We did buy an armoire refrigerator, but it was quite an event to get the right one! I originally wanted a counter depth version, but after taking measurements we discovered that the door wouldn't open all the way because it would bang into the door! After looking at lots of different stores and oodles of measurements, we finally found one that would fit! It wasn't a counter depth version, but I'm just happy we found one that we could open both doors at 90 degrees! I love, love, love seeing all my fresh produce at eye level! No more forgotten lunched shoved in the back!

We really, really, really wanted to come back to the PacNW, but after our last failed attempt at finding jobs, we decided it was time to make other plans. :( We will just have to plan on going there for vacations. I voted for our wedding anniversary trip since we met in Seattle, it would be romantic! Maybe I will stop in your bakery and surprise you one day! ;) Never know - could happen!
