SPARK to Quit Puffin and Start Movin' & Losin'

I've got big goals and lots of changes to make! I'm quitting smoking and getting my life back (in more ways than one). I'm 48 and my daughter is an adult so it's "me" time. Gonna eat right and exercise to avoid the weight gain from my "quit' and also to get back into shape. This is a big step toward caring about myself more than my job....hooray for me!

Update: The "official" quit date is 02/15/10 because I screwed up the earlier quit date. It must have been my time to ...

I'm looking forward to your continued support and also to supporting others.

The scale is moving s-l-o-w-l-y in the right direction, but moving nonetheless.

My Goals:
#1 - Stop smoking (DONE! - although I slipped for four days after my first quit. 2nd time is the charm on 02/15/10)!

#2 - Don't gain weight!

#3 - Get in shape/exercise - just move!

#4 - Lose 20 lbs.

#5 - Enjoy being me!

My Program:
Chantix helped with the initial 'quit' and the support here is what is really helping me to keep my quit - you all ROCK!

I'm starting out w/a 6 day a week workout plan. Even if it's only 15-20 minutes a day, combined with some strength training to start, I'll be happy. I'll add more time and intensity as I get in better shape. I'm eating planned meals and snacks and the food part isn't that difficult for me - I eat good foods most of the time.

UPDATE: I'm up to working out 6x/week for at least 45 mins/day and I do strength training in addition to the 45 mins of cardio. Feeling great!

Other Information:
Started smoking when I was 16 - smoked a pack and a half a day ever since so this QUIT is really important!

Struggled w/weight and body image all my life, including 20 years with bulemia - oh what a horrific way to live!

My face is wrinkled from the smoking and my teeth are breaking apart from years and years of bulemia but I still have my spirit and the rest of my life to benefit from these healthy lifestyle changes!

I've only been doing 30 minutes because my age is catching up with me and i JUST can"t do anymore. How are you doing hope you are happy and well
