My name is Sarah. I've been a yo-yo dieter since I was 13, but nothing has worked and kept working. I've always lost my motivation and gained all the weight I've lost back, plus some. I'm tired of being someone people can pass on the street without a second glance...I know deep inside me (beneath all these layers of "insulation") is someone people will notice and take a second glance at...even if it's just one time.

I have learned through the successes and failures of others that clearly, I'm not the only one on this voyage. I've also learned that I can't compare myself to others. Their journey si different than mine. My pen pal, Karen, is a recovering anorexic and struggles with her disorder EVERY DAY. One of the things that brought us together in the first place was that we both struggle for control in our lives. She controls her foods to a fault. I don't control mine at all.

I have a million stories about this success or this failure. Not just for weight loss, but in life as well. I'm rapidly approaching my 30th birthday and I can be very near my goal weight if I stick to it.

My Goals:
My goal is to change one habit at a time. I know by changing those habits, I'll change my lifestyle and thus, change my life. My final goal weight is 155. My mini-goals are 10 pound incriments. You can't start off looking at the finish line, you have to look at the steps it takes you to get there.

My Program:
I'm watching calories very closely and working out 5-6 days a week. My highest weight was 255 - my goal, 155 - total weight loss 100 pounds. For my workouts, I go to the gym and take classes. Cardio Fiesta is my favorite, but I'm learning to love pilates and PiYo because they really are helping me tighten and tone those not so pretty areas.

Personal Information:
I live in Arkansas. I am single and don't have any children, but I do have two dogs (patches and stitches) and a cat (tinkerbell) I work for a consulting firm I have one brother who is 20 and a US Marine. I'm more proud of him for the achievements he's made than words can say. I love to sing!!! I ESPECIALLY love to travel. I'm thinking a great final goal reward is a long trip to England to meet my pen pal. I guess that means my small goals rewards is saving money to get to England.

Other Information:
Jay Leno: Now there are more overweight people in America than average-weight people. So overweight people are now average. Which means you've met your New Year's resolution.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! As for running, I started using the Couch 2 5K program and now I'm using the Spark 5K Your Way (which I honestly think is easier!) The key is to do as much as you can, and if you have to repeat a session, repeat it. Take it at your own pace!

As for some running tunes I like, it's usually ones with attitude. (I call it girlie hate music, Lol.) My favorites include Pink's "So What", Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold", Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" and Britney Spears "Piece of Me." Anything with a beat and attitude usually gets me running. :)

    Good luck!

Well....You're not going to like the sound of this...But, I have accepted the idea that for me I won't always have measurable goals every month. What I CAN measure is how great I feel, how much I KNOW I am contributing to my long term wealth and well being.

You know I run a lot....Something I started a little over 2 years ago. To date I have run 747.49 miles, that's 125:55 hrs, and over 122,000 calories....If you had told me 2 years ago that that is the sort of numbers I would have to put into running to even be where I am at now, I probably would have given up a long time ago. It's almost like each run only gains me a 1/2 inch more distance...BUT it's worth EVERY half inch. You keep going because you have to. Your working out and dieting MIGHT inspire someone else to keep going and that makes it all worth it.

Don't back down cause there are a lot of people on here, me included, that believe in you!
