Welcome to my space! My name is Pam and I live in the NW Florida Panhandle. I am on a journey to take back my health by learning to eat right and exercising. I refuse to "diet" again. When I began to use Spark seriously in Jan. 2011, (signed up in 2009 but didn't really try) I needed to lose 100 lbs. and I wanted to become healthier. My first goal was to lose 50 lbs. (succeeded!!) I have read about 15 books on Nutrition NOT dieting. I have learned so much since that first day. I now fuel my body everyday instead of starving it! I actually enjoy exercising. I still have to work on my consistency with workouts though. My next goal is to lose the last 50 in the next year. I look forward to this life changing journey and making friends along the way!

1. Lose my last 50 lbs by 12/31/14.
2. Eat a low carb diet. (Dr. ordered)
3. Drink only 1 soda a day
4. Exercise at least 3 x a week
5. Drink 8 glasses water a day

Personal Information:
I am 54 years old & found out 3 years ago that I had Type 2 diabetes and had metabolic syndrome . Since being on Spark I no longer have metabolic syndrome and my doctor has said I no longer have Type 2 diabetes. (altho I disagree, I think once you are diabetic you always are. ) I am married 34 years to a wonderful man. I have 2 grown children with wonderful spouses. Our 1st grandson Quinn was born April 28,2011.


Other Information:
My hobbies are Machine Embroidery, Quilting,Sewing and Crafting. I enjoy spending time with God and my family, cooking, reading especially books that take place in the South, feeding my backyard birds and squirrels, camping, hiking, & traveling and watching Tampa Bay Rays Baseball. I collect seaturtles and angels.
