My goals are to lose weight, be able to walk again pain free and to not be a diabetic anymore and just get my body moving.
Get my body moving getting back to doing Gyrotonics (love it) making the right food choices and portion control.
I am born and raised in Seattle. Just turned 50 and pysically feel like I am 1oo. I had my own career of a hairdresser for 25 years and due to unforseen circumstance of getting hit by a car I lost my career. Went back to college to get retrained in another field and have been unemployed for the last 3 years. I have very loving and supportive boyfriend and family. Tired of bieng unemployed and stressed out by it. i want my old self back. That is what i am aiming for this year. Thanks to a dear friend of mine she told me about this site. I am looking forward to getting to know and help people here as I hope I can get help and support myself.
I am a huge Baseball fan and love music and anything that has to do with lighthouses and the sea.
Hi Janis I'm back on track ... as of this week:) Feeling good once again. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the idea of disciplined healthy eating, but let's not forget how much better it feels to be putting GOOD food into your body. I feel clearer minded already. (Why do I forget this?)
I have started just sitting at the edge of my bed before I get up and just think about how the day is going to go re meals and exercise. I quickly commit to walking the dog, and make myself aware if there are any social eating dates. If so, I eat around it, ie, if I'm going out for lunch, I plan for a light, nutritious breakfast and a lower cal supper. This sounds so SIMPLE, but the important part is seeing it in advance so you can work with it. "Be aware" is my new motto.
Instead of resenting the fact that we need to be disciplined around food, we need to see this discipline as being key to our future freedom -- freedom from health issues, bodily pain, misery ... lots of things.
