Baby Steps

I found SP while looking for a nutrition calculator and was amazed and grateful to discover that it's so much more than that.

I know from experience that making small, consistent positive changes snowballs into an avalanche of change. I didn't know that I would need to pay attention to every day if I wanted to hang on to the benefits of those changes. I didn't know that nothing is or can be allowed to be more important than health. Not studying. Not chores. Not even family ...

My Program:
Each day I will....
Drink 8 glasses of water.
Eat within my meal plan
Work on a step in Beck Diet Solution
Do at least 10 minutes of exercise.

Personal Information:
I'm from Seattle Washington and I LOVE to hike. Love, love, love to hike!

Other Information:
I have juvenile diabetes which puts an extra wrinkle into exercise, like checking blood sugar in the middle of a long run and carrying juice and a glucometer everywhere. Oh yes, an occasionally crashing.

I'm midway through nursing school where I am probably the oldest nursing student ever.

Don't worry, I can help you a bit. I found the first one quite overwhelming because I wanted to do everything, but think in retrospect, it is best to post fitness minutes a few times a week ( you can post several days at a time) and post your weight once a week. You can do as much more as you like. I find it nice to have the support of being part of a team participating in an event

I loved your friend Phoenix1949's comments on being an older student, so funny and spot on. I have been there twice, in my late 20s finishing a degree after going for 4 years after high school, then being 6 credits short of completion and working for 6 years before returning to finish, and also doing a care aide 6 month course when I was in my 50s and with one other student who was 50something and the rest of the class was 20something and I was older than most of their mothers
