My Goals:
To learn to eat less and eat slower (more mindfully).
To get off of conventional high blood pressure medications.
To eat well and stay active.

My Program:
Currently I'm on a diet between 1200 and 1500 calories. I'm retraining myself and my body to eat less.
I exercise 5-7 times a week with an emphasis on joint health. I do a lot of PT type exercises to maintain ROM in my shoulders and hips.

Personal Information:
I'm Sara Thompson from Pullman Washington. I work in IT at WSU. I am an avid reader, especially current health research (except I can't stand to read studies because they are so dry). I have 3 boys - my husband, my 15 year old son, and a two year old fluffy cat. They keep me busy and I am always on the run. We don't sit at home much - if we aren't busy volunteering, we can be found out in nature - fishing, foraging and generally enjoying the weather.

Other Information:
I can't sit still and I'm highly distractable. I've always got a ton of projects in the works because I need projects like most people need air.

Sara, emoticon for the mini-tramp SGoodie. Unfortunately, I was not able to meet my goals due to a 3rd day of migraines. But today is a new & migraine-free (so far) day. So I'd better get moving and try to take advantage of getting in those fitness minutes I lost yesterday. At least they can count toward the LCW! Getting on that mini-tramp right now. emoticon emoticon

Just saw your post... Here's a quick tip on beans. If you're cooking them from dry, you can put a little bit of baking soda in the water to help soften them. Hope your recipe goes well!
