That's me on the right, with my amazingly talented director/choreographer wife (we are a team--I do the vocals, she does the dance and direction for our musical theater program. A dear student, currently studying music in college, is in the center.

This is my project, "America's Tallest Singing Christmas Tree". My 300 voices strong, Mona Shores High School Choir, puts on 4 sold out shows each holiday season in the beautiful Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts in downtown Muskegon to over 4,000 people.

The struggle continues...
I'm simply tired of being overweight, tired of pulling my pants back up over my gut (tried suspenders but let's get real), long to be more active as my soul tells me I should, tired of keeping track of all my different pants by waist size, would like to be able to remove my wedding ring (finger is too chubby) and I want to be on the beach and not live in horror of my student's stopping by!
Further, I would like to bike in a century (100) mile ride. I did one a couple of years ago but then slowly put all the weight, plus more, back on. I would also like to run a 5k and I have dreams of even longer events.
I would like to hike more, play more outdoor games with the kids and generally be fit and healthy.
Following and fitness programs offered here. For exercise, I do the suggested strength training and stretching exercises. For cardio, I enjoy road cycing (Trex 1000), walking, running and kayaking. I am also active on Sparkpeople reading and posting things.
I live on the sunny shores of Lake Michigan! My background is my amazing 300 + voice high school choir!
My biggest challenge is that I LOVE:
Cheese, Pizza, Tacos, Wet Burritos, little frozen snickers, REAL taco chips with cheese dip, Cheese, Whoppers, Big Macs, fast food french fries, REAL icecream, peanut butter balls, cheese sticks, deep fried calamari, Lucky Charms, Buffalo Wings (extra spicy), Cheese, Chips and Cheese deluxe, a cold beer, hamburger helper with hot sauce, large plates of spaghetti with REAL garlic bread, peanut butter (more than a tablespoon please...), Crab rangoons, chili flavored freetos, chiliqueles, plate-sized chocolate chip pancakes with REAL whipped cream, CHEESE, cheese soup, sub-sandwiches with cheese, chocolate milk, REAL bacon, eggs fried in bacon grease, peanut M and M's, cashews-more than a handful, Combos, Cheesburgers-ON buns, chocolate peanut butter malts, margaritas, CHEESE, doughnuts, onion rings, peanut butter pie (my wife's), cream cheese, jalepenos stuffed with cream cheese, filet mignon with gorgonzola butter (wrapped in bacon ain't bad

Thanks for the comment on my page. I accomplished everything so far because of this incredible web site. Get on here every day and track everything. Diet is the #1 weapon to losing weight. I know that if I have a bad day at the gym, that I am OK. I still ate under my daily calorie allowance.
You can do it. Just gotta get up and make it happen. Losing weight is 99% a mind game. 1% physical.
