Hi! I am a busy teacher, grandmother, and newlywed! Well, almost - only 7 years. I am also 24 lbs. overweight, and having a hard time finding time to exercise (or energy, either!). So, I am seeing if this community can help keep me on track!

My Goals:
I will do cardio, mostly walking, 6 days a week.

I will do strength training at least twice a week.

I will eat at least two fruits and three veggies each day.



My Program:
I am trying to eat in a healthy way (I also have IBS and reflux disease), watch my portions and calories, and stick to a good cardio and weight training program (besides the yoga I already love!)

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. So live it!

Hi,
I edited my post on the Boot Camp Challenge, but I'm glad you read it before I did.

Congrats on your retirement from teaching. I'm a career changer who just got her degree 2 years ago. I absolutely love teaching and wish I'd gotten into it years earlier. But it sure does keep me busy!

I totally understand about not making the time to exercise even when you're not working. My summers are like that. The only thing that works is if I get up, eat breakfast, and immediately work out. Otherwise, there are too many more interesting things to do, and exercise keeps getting pushed further down my to-do list.

Just like you say on your SparkPage, today is the first day of the rest of our lives. And what we do today will make our tomorrows better (or worse). Let's choose to be healthy!

HI! I came to Sparks to thank you for the Happy Face and your kind comments. Losing weight after 50 is not easy! The Spark Plan is slow, but it does work. It took me eight months to lose 20 pounds, but it has stayed off - except for a feeding frenzy during the Holiday. I got back on track, and the four pound gain is gone again! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ON YOUR HEALTHY LIFESTYLE JOURNEY! And CONGRATULATIONS on being a newly wed! I remembe when I was a newly wed Granny! That's a lot better than an unwed Granny! LOL!
