I don't know what it is about my birthday that gets me online, cleaning out my email, and feeling the need to update my SparkPeople profile. I guess it is just the easiest way of marking the passage of time. I was going through pictures and seeing how different I have looked from year to year, various haircuts or at the fair or park or wherever I am.
This years news is that I just got married. July 4th, 2017.
I'm very excited to be starting my new life with my husband.
I was nervous about dresses, that I wasn't going to find anything to fit my big body, but I did. I even found a knock off dress similar to the one I fell in love with, at a discount price so I didn't have to feel guilty spending hundreds of dollars on something I would wear once.
We girls had our hair and makeup done, I was very happy with results, I felt amazing all done up and veiled and walking down the aisle in my white dress with hot pink heels.
Then later on I started seeing the pictures coming in, and realizing how overweight I've gotten, we've gotten (my husband has gained weight too since we got together), it made me so sad. I want to look back at my pictures and remember the love and happiness of the best day ever. I see the pictures after the wedding with me in flip flops with my dress because my legs could barely handle me in my gorgeous heels long enough to say I do and what was I thinking, I should have known better.
All I can do is start fresh, take it day to day and try to do my best from now on.

My Goals:
Choose healthier options. Bring my lunch to work. Cut out the fast food quick fix dinners and make dinner at home every night, its not so bad if we alternate cooking duties.

1. Focus on low calorie, not processed foods that contain no soy or gmo's; primarily organic foods.
2. Extend my walks with the dog to 3x/day at least 15-30 minutes.
3. Go to the gym to do elliptical &/or treadmill minimum 30 minutes/day 3 days/wk.
4. Stength training circuit 2 days/wk
5. Meditate minimum 30 mins each night.

Personal Information:
I was Born and raised in San Diego County. I don't really get out much and enjoy it though, but I'm going to change that.
I have overcome some health issues that caused me to be a homebody, I'm making it my goal to get out and get active at least one day each weekend, either going to s museum, going to the park, going to visit friends, something that keeps me active and not home where I'll want to sit and eat.

Other Information:
In June 2013 I had a life and death scare. It turned out I have a fibroid. I hemorrhaged, literally almost hemorrhaged to death. I was thinking at first that it was just a heavy cycle, it kept going, and after 2 weeks it had not let up, I began to get weak, after 3 weeks I started to lose my strength and color. When I finally went to the doctor my red blood cell count was in the 3''s. I was quickly admitted to the hospital where i was immediately hooked up to a heart monitor and given blood transfusions. I was given a total of 8 transfusions in the next couple of days, the doctor was stumped at how to stop the bleeding, and I was way too weak for surgery otherwise I would have had a hysterectomy. I was finally given an extreme dose of estrogen, which somehow actually worked to get my body to stop bleeding. It also caused me to gain about 35 pounds which made me so overweight I could only fit into my most generous elastic waist pants.
After 6 days in the hospital I finally went home, m
