I'm a 41 year old husband and father of two wonderful children, one boy (8) and one girl (3). Since moving to New England from California my wife and I have been slowly putting on the weight. I recently took my daughter for a "walk" and she decided to run just about the whole way. I realized that before too long I'll have to run to keep up with her and she isn't going to stop, so I'd best do something about it.

My first goal is to get back to a health weight and strengthen up my core so that I can start running again. When I get there, I want to start running and if my legs can take it (I'm a solid 6'3" so even at proper weight I'm a big guy) I'm going to train for a marathon. In high school I told people that my goals were to run a marathon and actually finish Moby Dick. Well, its time to run the marathon!

My Goals:
1 Get to a health weight
2) Start Running again
3) Run a marathon

My Program:
I'm focusing on nutrition first. I've nearly eliminated red meat and am focusing on fish, especially wild salmon, tofu, lean turkey, veggies and whole grains. The second leg of the stool is walking. I'm walking 2 mile every day, more on weekends. Finally, I'm working on core strength exercises and general strength training.
