Identity Theft

For the first half of my life, I was slim and athletic. I was no super model, but I was strong, healthy, confident, and content with my body. As I got older and busier, I became more sedentary; and I gained weight which I successfully lost in the early 2000s.

Unfortunately, massive stress, insane eating habits, and a thyroid condition resulted in a regain of the weight. The addition of a fractured foot that curtailed exercise for months set me over the edge to my heaviest weight ...

Unfortunately, massive stress, insane eating habits, and a thyroid condition resulted in a regain of the weight. The addition of a fractured foot that curtailed exercise for months set me over the edge to my heaviest weight in 2012.

My goal is simple. To be able to look in the mirror and recognize the person looking back at me. I don't need to look 20 years old, but I want my old identity back - the slim athlete. Today is the day that I take back my identity.

March 17, 2013 - I wrote the text above on Dec. 9/12. Since then, I have lost 30 lbs. 20 more to go. I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

October 30, 2013 - Well, I backpeddalled a bit since the last posting and have gained back 10 lbs. I WILL turn this around, however. Just watch me go!

Sept 18, 2014 - That's not gone well. Almost a year later, and I've made no progress. However, I started running 6 months ago, and I know I've gained 4 lbs of lean body mass. So, I'm on the right track and recommitted.

"Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don't succeed, try another way.
For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
The greatest mistake is giving up."

If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you.

"Many things are simply not going to happen with just one, or three, or even a dozen attempts. Yet anything becomes possible with enough persistence.
Keep going, and allow your efforts to build upon one another. Keep going, and transform the disappointments into achievements.
You have what it takes to keep going, because all it ever takes is just one more step forward.
Keep going, and work your way steadily to the richest rewards you can imagine."

"One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering."

Thanks a bunch for the goodie and well wishes for my husband. He was released from the hospital last night and its wonderful to have him home. I'm sure he will recover faster here.

Hope your week is off to a good start!
Hugs,
Pixie
