Feeling Fabulous in my 50's

Hi, I'm Lisa. I live in the Bay Area of Northern California and think it's the best place on earth to live. I love the outdoors and especially enjoy running, hiking and scuba diving. My husband and I are trying to be vegan which is not always easy. It's fine when we're at home cooking for ourselves, but if we go to a friends house and they're cooking up some steaks or chicken we'll certainly eat it without making a big deal out of it. We don't want to be "those people" who are not gracious ...

We don't want to be "those people" who are not gracious enough to accept what is being served. I also love to do yoga and meditation, and am in the process of learning to love the body I have! I love animals and nature and one of my dreams is to scuba dive with whales in Maui.

My Goals:
My goal is to get back to my "healthy weight" of 165. That's when I look and feel my best!
Run a half marathon in 2015.

My Program:
Work out for at least 30 minutes five times a week. Walk at least 5 miles each week. My favorite piece of workout equipment is my Fitbit, it motivates me to achieve 10,000 steps a day.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Personal Information:
I'm a very spiritual person, but not religious. I have a positive outlook on life and always see my glass as half full. Who knows, maybe I only wanted half a glass anyway.

Other Information:
I lost both my parents several years ago due to weight related issues. I vow to lead a much healthier and more active lifestyle and NOT follow in their footsteps.

Thank you so much for responding to my blog regarding the Nutri Bullet. I had mine for a few months, but was not faithful until now. I found a site that has a lot of recipes just for the Nutri Bullet. it is nutribulletblog.com How many times a day do you drink a shake? Did you ever watch Fat sick and Nearly Dead? I found it on Netflix it is the transformation on these 2 men , what juicing has done in their life it is amazing that is what got me back on it, then just having you tell me how much you and your husband like it helps me also. I am very excited to do this. We have a place here also that sells all fresh vegetables, plus I have Amish friends that have a lot fresh vegetables all year, plus every Wednesday there is also a huge market that opens to sell all kinds of fresh food items. Take care

Hi, Lisa! Thanks for stopping by my blog/page. Yup, I'm in the bay area- I live in Walnut Creek and work in Oakland. In California I've been diving in Lake Tahoe, Folsom Lake, Monterrey and the Coronado Islands. I MUCH prefer warm water ocean diving, though! The big island of Hawaii and St. Thomas have been my favorites so far, but I have a huge list of places I want to dive in the future. I'm a bit of a diving diva myself I guess..

What about you?

Thanks for the thoughts. A death in the family is hard, but I am so glad mom is there for a week.

Yuck, sorry to hear you were sick, too. I've heard from a lot of sp saying they had either the flu or a really bad cold over Christmas. Hopefully, the new year will bring in some healthy vibes! Have a great celebration!
