Feeling Fabulous in my 50's

Hi, I'm Lisa. I live in the Bay Area of Northern California and think it's the best place on earth to live. I love the outdoors and especially enjoy running, hiking and scuba diving. My husband and I are trying to be vegan which is not always easy. It's fine when we're at home cooking for ourselves, but if we go to a friends house and they're cooking up some steaks or chicken we'll certainly eat it without making a big deal out of it. We don't want to be "those people" who are not gracious ...

We don't want to be "those people" who are not gracious enough to accept what is being served. I also love to do yoga and meditation, and am in the process of learning to love the body I have! I love animals and nature and one of my dreams is to scuba dive with whales in Maui.

My Goals:
My goal is to get back to my "healthy weight" of 165. That's when I look and feel my best!
Run a half marathon in 2015.

My Program:
Work out for at least 30 minutes five times a week. Walk at least 5 miles each week. My favorite piece of workout equipment is my Fitbit, it motivates me to achieve 10,000 steps a day.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Personal Information:
I'm a very spiritual person, but not religious. I have a positive outlook on life and always see my glass as half full. Who knows, maybe I only wanted half a glass anyway.

Other Information:
I lost both my parents several years ago due to weight related issues. I vow to lead a much healthier and more active lifestyle and NOT follow in their footsteps.

I saw you on both the Fine Tuning and the 5K teams. Thought I'd stop by to say a special hi! I just started the 5K training today and I'm so excited because I've been talking about it forever but just finally started today. Woo hoo! Looks like you have done several races already so kudos!
Keep going strong!!

emoticon "BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AWARD" emoticon

emoticon You are the recipient of the Beautiful Woman Award!! emoticon

Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the page of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out!

emoticon Again, Congratulations Beautiful! emoticon

Hello and Happy Wednesday! :)

I have a quick question for you- do you know of any good charter dive groups in Maui? I'm going to be heading that way in November, and since I don't have a dive budding coming with me, I want to find a group that I could book a trip with. Have you had any experience diving there?

Thanks!

Amy

Oh.. yeah, See's candy is good stuff! I totally get what you mean about savoring it now, too! I've found that I've gotten snooty about my preferences for chocolate. I would have to tap into my strength to avoid the See's, too, but Hershey's kisses? Meh. It's not a problem to avoid those.

In fact, I've had a little tin of M&M's on my desk for weeks. I keep forgetting it's there because it's just not tempting. Who'd have thought?!?

Thanks for the comment on my blog, Lisa! I will definitely be adding that to my list of things to work on. I hope you're having a great week!
