You have to fight for it!

I've been up and down with my weight since college and it has only gotten worse over the past few years. One thing that i have finally gotten through in my head that this is the fight of my life!

I have to fight:

temptations at home and at work (especially at work)

that little voice that says, "Come on you know you don't really need to exercise today..."

people that want to to THINK they have your best intentions but they really WANT to ...

when the scale will not cooperate when you KNOW you've done everything you're suppose to

My Goals:
By the end of my journey:

1.)I would like to use food as a source of nutrition and not a means to satisfy emotional needs.

2.) See that exercise is more than a necessary evil. I will learn to love it because my body loves it.

3.) Be a role model for my daughters and students to show them the proper way to handle food and exercise choices.

My Program:
1. Take this slow - this is not a race. I believe that if I take things slowly, I will more likely make lifestyle changes.

2. Don't eliminate any food - that leads to wanting it more than ever which will lead to a binge. I will make wise food
choices and indulge with small portions infrequently. I know that if I ban chinese food, as soon as I have a bad day I'll order $50 worth of bad choices.

3. Incorporate some form of exercise daily. Even if it's just a walk around the block. If I take any days off, it makes it easier to keep taking days off.

4. Drink plenty of water. At least 8-8oz glasses. I want to feel like I'm a fish by time I'm done.

5. Journal everyday. I have to explore my mind to figure out what is triggering all of this weight gain. Am I angry, lonely, sad, or all three? It could be even more. All I know is there must be some sort of self hatred going on for me to not care about looking like this now.

I saw your status update and just want to say I completely know how you feel!! after years of on again off again... lose and gain... i finally found what works for me... and you will too... I have a long road ahead of me... but together we can do this!! Keep your chin up and always remember its doesnt matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up that count!!
